A quick search on Wikipedia describes mindfulness as a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.
I consider myself blessed to be a career woman, independent and having the opportunity to carry my own weight. All these things are empowering and beautiful but they come with great responsibility and depending on the different situations that have shaped us, it’s very easy to forget to be mindful of your wellbeing and taking time to take care of yourself.
I personally like being outdoors or changing my environment whenever I feel overwhelmed however anytime I think of taking a vacation or doing something fun just for me, I tend to feel guilty about it and end up thinking myself out of it. I am sure I am not alone and as a way of committing to this VERY important process, I am putting out this post to remind myself on the importance of being mindful of my welfare and to consciously attend to myself. I believe that once you intend to do something and write it down it always comes true.
So here we go…
I will try as much as possible to be honest with myself, search deep within as to why I feel a certain type of way, to allow myself to go through the emotions that come along with it and thereafter to seek ways of soothing my soul, make sure that I am ok and that my cup is full.
